How to Apply

Surface Preparation
Concrete: Ensure surface is clean, dry and free of all loose and unsound material. Tack Coat may be applied over a sound existing coating. Any previous coating must be clean and lightly sanded to produce a surface profile. Metal: All oil, grease, or other contaminants must be removed with Cemtetch® Self Etching Cleaner and the metal allowed to dry. Remove any loose, unsound material and rust by scraping and wire brush. Tack Coat should be applied immediately after cleaning and drying.

Mixing
Combine the two components into a clean plastic or metal pail. Use a paint paddle or spatula to scrape out and transfer as much of the material as possible. Mix the components thoroughly. Do not mix more than one unit at a time. Immediately pour the material into a roller pan and do not delay application. The pot life is approximately 20 minutes at 60-70°F. Higher temperatures will reduce the pot life. Do not leave mixed components in the mixing container. The product will quickly become unusable and will become hot. Use immediately.

Application
Apply sparingly by roller or brush and allow to become tacky. Application of the Concrex® must be completed while the Tack Coat is still tacky. (A minimum temperature of 50°F is necessary in the area of application to ensure proper curing.) Tack Coat should be sufficiently tacky for top coating approximately 30 minutes to one hour depending upon temperature and the type of substrate. It should remain tacky for at least one hour. If the Tack Coat is allowed to harden a fresh application of Tack Coat must be brushed over the surface, if possible within 24 hours.
